Hello,

Today is my 2nd day on the program. I'll be 60 next month - good to find others like me, especially to know that there are others in the same age group that believe we can actually lose weight at this age. I'd just about given up. I want to lose 50 pounds and get off my blood pressure medicine that I hate to take. Even though I've dieted for many years – lost some and always gained it all back - I've never done this one, and only hope the money is worth it - will probably be the main reason I stick with it. I've been hungry on and off - from starving to just a little, and will talk to the counselor tomorrow about this - as I think I was rushed when I signed up and everything wasn't explained. Today she told me about "free foods" so I guess that's what I'm missing.

Hi this is Anne. I have been doing JC since August and have lost 11 pounds. I wish it were quicker as I still have lots to lose, but for the first time I am doing better with portion control. It's so helpful not to have to cook.
I hope to post here often.

Hi Portia and Ann! I too am new to JC. This is my 4th week. I weigh in tonight but am down 5 lbs in two weeks. Hopefully tonight will be a minus on the scale. I've been good on the program so I don't know why it shouldn't. I am a very slow loser and of course want to lose it all RIGHT NOW. I usually loose 1/4 pound at a time, but so far it's been 1-2. I'll take it. I have alot to lose. About 80 pounds, so it will take a while. I too think I will be able to stick with it just because it costs so much money. However, I do live alone and what I would spend on groceries and eating out (I did a lot) is about the same amount.

Yesterday I started the 10 minute walking from the JC DVD on walking. I did it twice with a total of 20 minutes. It wasn't bad. Being 63 I knew I wouldn't be able to "jump right in" so I'm going to take it slow.

Wish you both luck and hope to see you here on this board frequently. I check it every day and it's so good to see that some one has posted recently.

Joan

A good week for me! I lost 4.6 pounds this week. However, I gained weight last week for some reason while staying on the program 100% of the time. This week was was totally off the program while out to lunch on two days and yet lost! Very strange!

Hello,

Welcome to the JC program. I've only been on JC for nine weeks so far and I'm somewhat satisfied with the loss. Kinda of slow, but I gained it slowly. As for sprucing up your posts I can tell you how to get 2 things - the thing at the bottom that shows your weight loss and the little picture that sits to the top left of your posts - I think.

To get a weight loss thing click on any of them you like in these forums with your mouse. When you do, you will be taken to the web site that the person used to create it and you can make your own with any colors, figures you want. Just follow the directions. The only draw back I find is that it doesn't automatically update. You have to update it yourself by going back to the same web site you made it on and change it there.

Once you finish at the web site, scroll down a little, and copy the code. Then , come back here - look up at the top line under "Forums" oand go to “My Controls”. Look on the left under Personal Profile and click on "edit signature". Then paste what you copied in the “edit your signature” box. Scroll down below that box and click “update my signature”.

If you want a picture – you change that in the “edit avatar settings”

Let me know if you have more questions about any of this.
