Some Encouragement for Brides!

A small success story...
I got engaged in November, but my fiance and I kept putting off making concrete plans. Though there were several reasons why, one of the biggest ones for me was "the dress." After an entire late January day spent on J. Crew's website admiring the wedding dresses, I decided it was time to join JC and kick start into action!
Over the course of the next three months, we set a date for a small, country wedding (July 2009) and I found a (discontinued) dress I loved. I was able to locate the dress on ebay in a size 8 (I was a 10/12 at the start), so I was thrilled. Well, today I went for my first fitting with a seamstress to make small alterations. That size 8? Turns out it needs to be a size 4/6--so we're taking a lot in! Now, having reached my goal three months before my wedding, I have plenty of time to work on maintenance, tone up with some light weights, and look forward to the day.
I just thought I'd offer the story for anyone who, like me, is looking at this forum for some encouragement that it really can be done! Once we take some pictures in the newly altered dress, I'll be sure to post them!
