You can use Progresso Light soups for the soupitizers. Just split the can into two servings. That will help you save some $.
I hate the soupertizers, but i have been so hungry lately i have been thinking about getting them. I get hungry in the afternoon. But now i think ill get some of the progresso light soups instead! So 1/2 the can? and it counts are 2 limited? and any progresso light is ok?

I forget who asked, but as for 1 week at a time that is what I do when I go in center. I believe that people who buy 4 weeks at a time are probably doing the at home program.
BTW...to cut the cost of the extras, I buy some at Costco--I buy a large bag of spinach (about $4 but lasts a couple weeks), Yoplait light (lasts about 2 weeks or more), asparagus (about $5), low sodium V8 cans (6oz), bananas ($1.50), and mushrooms ($4). I only buy onions and milk at the store. I would bet that I spend no more than about $20 bucks a week on extras.
I guess that would total about $540-$580 a month for everything. I don't drink alcohol and my husband does his own thing for meals--mostly sandwiches and pizza (it's amazing how he's less picky and the meals are simpler when he makes it all himself!). I really don't think our food bill has gone up very much between the 2 of us (and to be honest, we don't eat out anymore or have a bar tab (that was what always did us in!) so our food bill may have gone down).

But I don't buy the bars or the breakfasts. Also I buy only very few desserts.
Instead I substitute with Kashi or other cereal and every Sunday I measure/weigh out my cereal and store it in small ziploc bags. Every morning I can just grab one. As I love fruits, yoghurt, veggies and jello with whip I easily spend another 75$ per week on those. That includes crystal light flavours and all those gadgets...
My grocery bill before was 100 $ per week plus the occasional take away foods. I assume I spend 25-50$ more than before, but to me it's worth it and as long as I can justify it I will do it!
