Hi - I am 50+, not looking to use this as a dating service or chat someone up. I was hoping older ladies and gentlemen would have a refuge to help each other because we understand the golden years sometimes are not so golden smile.gif and it is harder losing weight, exercising...the whole nine yards.

I gained my weight through an allergic reaction to drugs in the hospital - BOOM ! Rolled in thin - after a month in ICU - left fat - that's it in a nutshell. I had tried everything to lose the weight that used to work but NO - NOT NOW...the curse of being older included making it tougher. Finally, I decided to give a professional a whirl and sought Jenny Craig and I am so happy I did. I have been losing pound if not pounds steadily without benefit of exercise other than the normal slave labor of housework rolleyes.gif

I would love anyone who is interested to jump on board and share....looking forward to meeting new friends.

Hello, Steph, and though my reply is a little late, I wanted to let you know that I can certainly relate to all the challenges we 50+ folks have. I gained my weight, little by little, starting when I quit smoking, then my weight started ballooning with menopause. I have been to dozens of other programs, and like so many, I lost weight, but quit the programs because of boredom and other issues. Jenny Craig has been the story of my success. I've lost a lot of weight, and am still losing, though at times, it comes to a halt. I won't give up. I look so much better and get so many compliments. My health is better too. smile.gif

Hi gals! I'm almost 57, started gaining weight after I got married, discovered cooking and stopped exercising. I lost a wonderful job after 12 years due to the extremely depressed Michigan economy. Since I lost my job, I have gained a lot of weight. I'm stuggling with depression and am finding it difficult, day by day, to stay on the program (although I have not strayed from it). I need help with motivation and exercise. I don't have any friends or family to lean on. Help!!! Thanks!

Hello,
Talk about coming in late! But this is my area to be in.
I'm 52 and starting back on JC today for the 3rd time. I'm excited about it.
It seems to be much harder for me to stick with losing weight than it used to be. Menopause does not make it easy either.
I'm so sick of trying to lose the same weight over and over and I have just gotten larger and larger.
Of all the diet programs I have attempted, I know JC is the best.
Hope everyone has a wonderful New Year!
Kedi

i'm 56, and have lost 51 pounds over the past 14 months. still have about 49 pounds to go. i have been staying on program faithfully, but have been plateauing for past 3 months. i know some of this is due to my age, plus i have always been a slow weight loser. just trying not to use this plateau as an excuse to go off program. i went down 6 sizes with my 51 pounds, and am very happy about my weight loss so far, which has been very hard-fought. i can, and will, keep going!
