Hi Tessa,

I am getting married in March 2009. I started up JC again (did it in 06' and last 36 pounds). I love this program but found it hard to afford... I finally decided that I need to lose weight for my wedding day even if I go into debt. lol..

I just started again today... I have approximately 65 pounds to lose and have 8 months, that's approximately 8 pounds a month, which is 2 pounds a week... May be a little hard, but I will TRY HARD...

How's it going for you?

I will definitely be your buddy, I need one too..
KEEP IT UP...

Thanks for your reply.....

I am loving the program so far. My only complaint is the cost.......it is more expensive than I was hoping. But the convenience and simplicity of the plan is worth it. I am at my lowest weight I have been in well over a year (possibly 2 years).

I was constantly fluctuating between 204 - 219 lbs ........diets worked but were way to hard to sustain.

My wedding day is giving me that little extra motivation I need. And my consultant is great.

I haven't set a wedding day yet......but know it will be in the summer of next year. depends if we do an indoor or outdoor wedding.

Well thank you again for replying. It seems like we are pretty similar for weight loss and similar time line. What is your Weigh in day?? Mine is on Thursdays. Are you on Jenny Direct or do you go to the center?

talk to you soon
Tessa

Hey there, i'm up for virtual buddies as well. I don't have a lot of support from people I have direct contact with, so I'm looking for people also that will help me and keep me on track. My wedding is June of 2009 and unlike you guys I have at least 100 pounds to lose, if not more. Right now I'm down 4 pounds, so I guess that's a start. I just get the recipes online and cook my own meals that way. I can't afford the program unfortunately, but the recipes work, I can portion it out and still have the benefit. Hope to talk to the two of you again soon. smile.gif

WELCOME WELCOME WELCOME

4 LBS IS A GREAT START......I AGREE WITH THE COST. EVENTUALLY I WILL PROBABLY HAVE TO START CUTTING BACK ON MY MEAL PURCHASES AND DOING MORE ON MY OWN..... TO SAVE $$$ FOR THE WEDDING. I AM LUCKY THOUGH, MY FIANCE HAS TAKEN OVER A COUPLE OF THE BILLS SO I CAN AFFORD TO STAY ON THE PLAN.

HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN DOING YOUR PLAN???

MY ONLY ADVICE I HAVE FOR PEOPLE RIGHT NOW IS ......STICK WITH IT? EVEN A 2 OZ WEIGHT LOSS IS STILL A LOSS. ALSO KEEP TAKING MEASUREMENTS (THOSE WEEKS W/ LITTLE WEIGHT LOSS HAVE BEEN THE WEEKS I HAVE LOST THE MOST IN INCHES).

THE WEEKS I HAVE SEEN THE MOST PROGRESS ARE THE WEEKS I DRINK AT LEAST 64 - 100 OZ OF WATER. AND HAVE WORKED OUT AT LEAST 3-6 DAYS OF THE WEEK. EVEN A 15 MIN WALK IS BETTER THAN NOTHING. FIND SOMETHING YOU LOVE TO DO THAT IS ACTIVE. I LOVE TO DO YARD WORK AND THAT IS GREAT ACTIVITY 1/2 HOUR OF MOWING A LAWN IS 250 CAL BURNED (AND THAT IS FOR A AVERAGE SIZED PERSON APPROX 160 LBS). I ALSO FOUND YOGA. I LOVE IT.....I THINK I BURN MORE CALORIES LAUGHING AT MYSELF BUT I STILL HAVE A GREAT TIME. I'M NOT DARING ENOUGH TO GO TO AN ACTUAL CLASS BUT HAVE FOUND A YOGA DVD TO DO AT HOME.

WELL GOOD LUCK

CAN'T WAIT TO HEAR BACK FROM YOU AND ALL THAT PROGRESS YOUR MAKING

TESSA

I've been using the recipes for about two weeks. It took me about a week to go through all of them and find the ones myself and my fiance would like (he's a bit pickier than I am haha). I'm having a hard time with the water thing, I can't seem to get past 3 bottles of water a day, even if I flavor it, so that's what I'm working on right now. I have many exercise DVDs at home, lots of aerobic dancing and Tae Bo ( the new AMPed workout of his, is AWESOME, best workout I get). I love dancing, so that's what I gravitate towards. Lots of salads and fruit, instead of cookies or chocolate, I bring grapes, strawberries or sliced cucumbers to munch on through the day. Its a slow start, but at least its a start. I hope someday I can get more help with Jenny Craig, but right now I'm kinda just making it up as I go until I can collect enough money to do this full out. I loved Yoga when I did it, and Pilates, its very relaxing. I have to go find a new DVD. Well I suppose I should be working, so I hope to talk to you again soon. Congrats on the progess so far!! smile.gif

Hi Brides to be!

I just now decided to schedule a consultation with a Jenny Craig rep tomorrow. I am getting married in less then 3 months. I am at such a standstill with my weight and wonder if this will even help. I am worried about the $ so I will see what this will cost me when I go to the consult tomorrow. I need the support and accountability of a weigh in. I have never done any diet programs. I am trying to realisitic too, I am only looking to lose about 10-20 lbs since I already have the dress!. My mom has been on JC for 2-3 months now and has lost 20lbs.

I love the idea of chatting to support one another. Good luck!

I'm Stephanie by the way, and I am in Studio City CA.

HI EVERYONE......

SO TODAY I HAD MY WEIGH IN. I AM SO EXCITED. I LOST 3 LBS THIS WEEK. I AM OFFICIALLY OUT OF THE 200'S.

WEIGHT NOW IS 197.6 LBS. I AM 1 OZ AWAY FROM BEING 1/4 OF THE WAY TO MY GOAL WEIGHT! I CAN'T REMEMBER THE LAST TIME MY SCALE HAD THE 1 (IN FRONT). MY REWARD I DECIDED TO GIVE MYSELF IS A NEW HAIRSTYLE. I HAVE BEEN GROWING MY HAIR OUT (FOR LOCKS OF LOVE) FOR ALMOST 2 1/2 YEARS.

MY HAIR IS NOW LONG ENOUGH AND I AM READY TO CUT IT. STILL TRYING TO FIND THE RIGHT HAIRSTYLE...I DON'T WANT TO CUT IT TOO SHORT BEFORE THE WEDDING.

TODAYS WEIGH IN HAS MOTIVATED ME SOOOO MUCH FOR THIS COMING WEEKEND. WE ARE HEADING UP THE COAST FOR MY FIANCE'S FAMILY REUNION. I AM PACKING MY FOOD AND WORK OUT CLOTHES TO TAKE WITH ME. I FIGURE A NICE WALK ON THE BEACH EVERY MORNING WILL KEEP ME ON MY PLAN.

CAN'T WAIT TO HEAR FROM YOU ALL. WELCOME STEPHANIE.......LET ME KNOW HOW YOUR CONSULTATION GOES.

TALK TO YOU ALL LATER
TESSA

Congratuations on getting under 200 pounds!!! I can only imagine what that feels like, I can't wait until the day I'm under 200. I'm going away this weekend too, fiance's family is having a get together, hope I can stay on track. Welcome Stephanie, hope your consultation goes well, keep in touch with us, I know I love talking to people and hearing their success. In a way hearing about other people and the progress they are making is making me more motivated to work harder at mine as well. Almost like I don't want to let everyone down or something haha. Good luck and I'll talk to everyone soon! Have a GREAT weekend!!!!

Thanks you guys! I will let you know about the consultation. I just want to get some feedback on what I am doing right and wrong. I am not sure how I will be able to afford this though...
Congrats on getting under 200! That's awesome. You have inspired me to move forward. Locks of love is great. I grew my hair out a few years ago. Right now it's long again for the wedding, but I will be cutting it once I walk down the aisle. LOL.
My finace asked me to "look into" JC for him as well. Is anyone's fiance also on the plan with them?

be well,
Stephanie

Hey Steph, I wish I could get my fiance to do this with me, then maybe he would cough up the money for us to get the meals haha. Right now, I trick him with recipes I get from online and I just focus on portion control. I lost another 2 pounds last week, and that's with my weekend food!!! Thankfully his family let me make my own plates so I could monitor what I ate, but with 4 days of rice and beans with pork and steak I managed to lose 2 pounds. So I'm very excited. I'm now under 260 which makes me VERY happy. 58 pounds to go before I'm under 200..... here's hoping. From what I've read in other boards, the plan for the men works rather well, most of them are pretty happy with it and losing a lot. Hope everything is going well for you, talk to you soon!

Hey all,

So how did all your weekends go? Mine was pretty good.....we had my fiance's family reunion. It was so difficult. There was a ton of food, desserts, and beverages. I did stick with my meal plans but I did have a few too many beverages. I hope it doesn't effect me too much on the scales. I was able to stay active....found a great loop to walk near the house we were staying at. And one morning got overly ambitious and did a fast pace walk on the beach for almost 1 hour....it was brutal!!! lol my legs are still sore!

Well I am very excited to hear how you all have been doing? How did you consultation go Steph? Tifalvarez 2 more lbs............that is great! You have such great motivation doing this by yourself planning your own meals.

Steph to answer your question about fiances going on the plan........mine is a big fat NO! He has decided he would like to join a gym and try to workout 3 times a week together. He doesn't have much to lose anyways......just needs to tone up a little. (I wish that was my problem).

Cocopebbles welcome to our little group.....good luck.

So has anyone been shopping for a dress yet? I am very excited to start but also very nervous. I don't want to get discouraged if nothing looks good. I still have such a long way to go.

Well ladies I better get going its almost dinner time.......

have a great rest of the week
Tessa

Hi Ladies

I weigh in every 2 weeks on Wednesday's. I didn't want to do jenny direct and pay for the shipping. But, the closest center is 30 minutes away, so I will go in every 2 weeks. Tonight is my first weigh in with being on JC for 1.5 weeks. I'm hoping for 5 pounds.

How is everybody else doing?
Keep up the great work - we WILL look GREAT on our Day!!

Hey everyone, I weigh myself on Monday mornings (not sure if that is the smartest thing being right after the weekend, but so far its working for me haha). I think I have also found a way to master getting my water in during the day. So far I've been stuck at 3 bottles a day and can't get past it, well now I'm timing myself, every 2 hours I have to drink one bottle. I'm thinking this is easier at work because the water tastes good and I'm not drinking all the bottled water at home. I have from 8-10 to drink one bottle, then 10-12 and so on. Lets hope this works for me. Now to find a way to exercise when the house doesn't have air conditioning and its humid as all get out. I exercise the 2 days I'm off work early in the morning when I wake up, so at least that's something, but not sure how to handle the other days. I'm already waking up at 5:30 to get to work, should I wake up at like 4:30-5 to get it in before the temperature rises? The exercising part has always been the hardest part of every diet for me. I'm glad to hear your reunion went well Tessa, mine went off without a hitch either so I'm excited. I actually found myself missing my salads all weekend haha, never thought I would see the day. Well I suppose I should begin my work day. Welcome to our little group Coco, good luck and keep in touch. I will talk to everyone soon!! smile.gif

GOOD MORNING LADIES ~

WELL WEIGH IN DAY FOR ME......LOST 1 LB THIS WEEK. I WAS HOPING FOR A BIGGER NUMBER SINCE I WORKED MY BUTT OFF THIS WEEK. BUT I GUESS ANY LOSS IS BETTER THAN A GAIN.

TIF I HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM ON MY WORK DAYS.....I WORK 12 HOUR SHIFTS AND REALLY DO NOT HAVE THE TIME AFTER WORK TO GET ANY EXCERCISE IN. WHEN I AM ON DAY SHIFT I AM USUALLY UP AROUND 5:30. I DID START GETTING UP BETWEEN 4:30 - 5:00 TO GET MY EXCERCISE IN THE MORNING DONE AND OVER WITH. MY GYM IS NOT OPEN AT THAT TIME BUT I EITHER TAKE THE DOG FOR A WALK OR WORKOUT TO A DVD AT HOME. IT'S REALLY HARD FOR ME TO GET UP THAT EARLY BUT I DID START NOTICING I WAS IN A MUCH BETTER MOOD AND HAD A LOT MORE ENERGY THE DAYS THAT I FORCED MYSELF TO DO IT. BELIEVE ME I HATED EXCERCISING AND STILL DO DREAD IT SOMETIMES. PLUS I AM NOT REALLY A MORNING PERSON. BUT THE WAY I FEEL AFTER I AM DONE IS SO WORTH IT.

WELL I SHOULD GET GOING HAVE BILLS TO PAY AND NEW MENU TO PLAN....

TALK TO YOU ALL SOON

THANKS TO ALL OF YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT
TESSA

Well Tessa if you can do it then so can I...I will give it a shot and see what happens. What time do you go to bed? I will try it tomorrow and see how it works for me. Friday's are always my draining day at work, so maybe it will give me the energy I need to get through the day. Talk to you all tomorrow, its off to home for a yummy salad haha. tongue.gif smile.gif

Hi group,

I was reading through everyone's comments and Tessa I work out 7 times a week sometimes twice a day. I hope it pays off in the long run. I just want to see the weight melt away. It's good your losing weight instead of gaining. Stay motivated and determined. Does this sound relastic to anyone: I want to lose 57 lbs. in three months. This will put me at 120. Currently, I'm 180. Maybe when I get to 130 I'll say 120 is too skinny. I'm 5'4".

Thoughts?

Coco
