Welcome new members!!!

Tiffany glad you came back to check in. We all fall off somewhere or other but the best thing is to pick back up and keep going!! I am now in skinny jeans but I am in jeans I haven't worn in probably 2 yrs!! biggrin.gif I hear you about being busy with school me too!!

Now let me tell you what happened to me...my first day back Monday actually started Sunday. Which is the day I finished my classroom. I had been going ALL weekend with my kids and DH to help me hang & move a few things. (I had moved classrooms at the end of the year so I was getting the new one all ready) Well Sun. evening I get a call from my principal saying I was going to have to move back to my old classroom because they had to add a new 4th grade teacher and she was new and couldn't have her move to my old classroom b/c she would be by herself and away from her team. I CRIED then called him back and begged him to find another place for her so I would NOT have to move EVERYTHING I just did! Monday morning he couldn't find anywhere else and I HAD to move. I CRIED again! sad.gif But I was just very P-ED-off!!! angry.gif Plus he promised me help, I didn't get it! My team helped me move. So Monday I spent my WHOLE first day back MOVING!! Ughh I could just cry thinking about it!!! He excused me from meetings that day so I could move (rolling eyes!!!) I just can't believe he did that to me. No one could! But that is how he is. You can guarantee next yr I will be putting in a transfer!!! Tuesday I finished doing everything I did in the other room for the second time (hanging bulletins). SIGHHH I did still go to Hip Hop Monday night! I was exhausted from all the moving but ya'll know I like to get my groove on!! tongue.gif Plus I needed to relieve the stress!
Now for good news I had my 12 wk WI and lost 1.2 lbs and another 7 in.!!! I am so close to losing my 10% 20 lbs and being in the 170's!! Such a great feeling it outweighs (LOL) the other stuff!!
Hope everyone has great losses and great first day/week of school!!

Welcome back Tiffany...you were missed. Don't sweat it...you were sick and sometimes our bodies tell us what we need for the moment even though it isn't good. But you have been exercising from the past and your body isn't going to just stop metabolizing efficiently as it has in one week. So just get back up! wink.gif

Cropper--boy do I feel your pain. We have a new school. No technology is working as it should and I still don't have access to my computer in my room. My audio enhancement isn't working either and my room echoes something horrible. I spent most of my entire week just moving boxes around. The school kept telling us that if we left boxes out in the hall that they would be trashed so not to leave anything valuable out there. Well, there was a lab safety goggle cabinet that wasn't mine and I put out there. The last day I came into my room and not only was it back in my room, but about 20 other BOXES that WEREN'T mine! I actually cried. So much for keeping their word. Oh well.

My first week back with students was great...except for a little rain we got (We had two hurricane days already first week of school). You might have heard about the little rainfall in the ENTIRE state of Florida lol. Fay has got to be the freakiest storm ever. Never have I experienced a tropical storm with that much rain and to strengthen on land. Typical female.

Anyways, I was getting frustrated with JC consultants these past couple of weeks. Last WI I gained .4 lbs. I had snacked and she said that was probably it. It didn't feel right (that reason). And this WI I gained another .8lbs. I got really upset. Plus I got a bombshell that my normal consultant got another job and left. So that added to it. I am a biology major. I don't know everything about nutrition but I do know some about the body. I have increased my strength training to 3x a week. I can actually feel the definition in my arms. So I have gained muscle. So I think (and my intuition is telling me) that that is the reason for the change. I have done my inches myself and have lost quite a bit this month. In fact, the pants I just bought in June are now too big. So, that made me happy. I have my WI on Monday night and I don't like that time frame. I am gonna change it so I will be happier. smile.gif I also get measured on this one, so we will see if my measurements match theirs. But students and teachers alike have been complimenting me the last two weeks...so it is worth it! biggrin.gif

Whew I feel better! Had to vent that. So welcome newcomers. Any teacher is welcome on this thread....Can't imagine anyone saying "no we don't want you here". Shame on them if they do. Teachers need all the support we can get. So the more the merrier. Well, I have to go lesson plan... ttyl
keep losing!

Cropper--can I get an amen? I too will be putting in a transfer. My boss did something similar to me and I had to move my classroom and move to a new grade and was given the lowest students. Keep pressing on. I know it can be tough!

Morn---Thoguth my consultant is great, I know of lots of people that tell me all kinds of rationalizations for why I've gained weigth when I have and it seems so stupid. I agree. Muscle does weigh more and if you have increased your strength training and are gainign muscle you will gain a little weight. I'm sure you will start to see results again on the scale soon! Don't get too discouraged. Just think that toning is going to make you firm in places where there used to be flab!

Good luck to everyone! And welcome back to school

Oh yeah, where do you live, Morn? I too had my first 2 days off of school due to TS Fay...and yes weird storm...seems to still be dropping buckets of rain on the great US of A!

I too had to move all my stuff and set up a new classroom, I switched sites and now have a whole new bunch of people to work with. They have all been working together for 12 or more years. Well to say the least I have already screwed up a bit. It seems that they do things very differently over here and today my assistant is coming in with me to straighten some things out. I can say that I have not turned to food in the wake of all of this, but instead did do excersice. I also was on vacation last week and lost .8 laugh.gif !! If all this begining of the year stress doesn't cause me to overeat I think I should be okay. In NY school doesn't start until next week, and I go back the week after that so this stress is far from over. I love the fact that you all know what I am going through, it is so easy to talk to you and know that you know where I am coming from. Well in an hour or so I am going up to school to face the music of putting up another teachers boarder. I don't handle confontation well so my stomack is all wacky and breakfast seems a no can do. Well the good news is down 8 lbs. in three weeks. Tuesday I get measured week four, I can't wait. Hope you all have a great day.

That really stinks, April, my boss is very stressful too! I know I feel so much better when I'm exercising. Things have gotten worse than they were last year and yet I'm not as emotional about it and I really believe that is because I'm exercising regularly! I take my stress out on the treadmill instead of eating. Way to go on exercising instead of eating! I know that is hard so kudos to you!

Hope your week goes well!

I have been really faithful with running and eating only JC food and yet I haven't been losing...its super frustrating! I weighed in today and only lost .7 pounds...argh! I hope the scale shows my hard work next week!

Hey April welcome back!!! Good job to still have a loss on vacation!

HURRINCANE-Have you been doing more activity then when you first started? Have you ever changed your calorie level? I had to change mine because I wasn't losing. Now I am doing both 1200 & 1500 cal weeks. The days I exercise I eat 1500 on the days I don't I eat 1200 cal. It has helped. Maybe you can ask you JC about it next week.

Hey TIFF, MORN!!

Oh I forgot to post my loss this week. -1.4 and I have lost my 10% (20lbs!!!!!) SO Happy!!!

Cropper-crongrats on the 10%, even with all the school stress that is awesome. Hope you have a great day.

Thanks for all your support guys!!! I felt immensely better just letting out on the bulletin board. I had measured myself and knew I lost those inches so I felt better. Wow is everyone moving???? We just had our school remodeled so we moved into the new school this year. lol So we are all in the same boat. Maybe that is why we chose this time to get fit so we could move all those heavy boxes! blink.gif

Hurricane I am in Altamonte Springs. I teach in Orange County (northwest corner of it). Where are you? the first two days off sounds like Polk County. hey it is frustrating when it is only .7, but it is still close to a pound and next week it may be bigger loss. At least you were not adding! that is even more depressing. So stick to it. Remember the process not the goal. We WILL get there.
Cropper awesome job on the 10%!!!! Keep it up! We are getting there eh?
April how did your meeting go? Hope you didn't get into too much trouble. When I get into it I just smile and play dumb. lol Unless it is serious serious then I get my CTA rep with me. I am sure that with all this weight coming off that you don't worry so much. I have found that about me. I may ***** about something but it really doesn't bother me much. I don't spend my time worrying like I used to.

So for the good news......I lost!!!!! down to 202lbs so that was a 2-3lb loss! AND I lost like 1.5 inches off my bust (I have to get my numbers I forgot to write them down, so it is that or 1 inch), 2 inches off my belly and like .5 or 1.0 inches off my hips!!!! It is my TOM now so I didn't hit the gym these last two days which puts off my goal of 5x this week, but I will get it next week. i did go tonight though and work the arms and legs. man they are fatigued.

So keep your heads up ladies...keep being motivated b/c it is sometimes the only thing for me! smile.gif
take care

morn---CONGRATULATIONS! That is so exciting! I hope to be in the same boat as you in a few weeks or less. I'm at the 205 mark right now. I totally feel the same way about work..I am feelign a lto less stressed out at work and I know it is due to my exercising regularly and eating healthy. I'm just feeling better about myself. So even if I'm not losing as much or as fast as I would like to, I am feeling better and that is really what counts, right?

Thank you everyone for the encouragement. It has been a rather rough week food wise with LAbor Day and all. I was invited to 3 parties and ended up grabbing for chips and such since my period is coming up soon. ARGH! Oh well, I just have to remind my self PROGRESS NOT PERFECTION...I know that every step I make in the right direction is further away from the unhealthy lifestyle I was living!

Cropper- Congrats on the 10%. As they say in WW, you are now a lot more healthy. Here's a little online party for you making your 10%! Keep it up!

Good luck everyone!

Wow everyone is doing so amazing it is insirational just to read the board. It got me doing the bike in addition to my eliptical. 20 minutes on each 3-5 times a week. Excersice is the hardest for me, but you guys are such a help, so THANK YOU all!! biggrin.gif I'm down 10.6 in 4 weeks.

Congrat's Cropper on your 10%, that is great. You must really be feeling the difference now. Need new clothes yet?

Morn great job on hitting the 190's, I can't wait to break my first big number a little over 4 to go.

Well have a great day everyone and keep up the excellent work.

Thanks for all the hoopla guys! It is a GREAT feeling. and I can't wait to help you guys celebrate your milestones. Cropper 10% is just great. Hope school is going ok. I get so worried when I don't hear from you or Tiff. But I think positive that you are busy working out, eating delicious food and working on school work. For me this seems to work better than my journal, so I keep with the board. Sometimes I feel guilty about how I was this week or that week and am afraid to post when everyone is doing well. But I don't want to get into that habit cuz then I defeat myself and keep my fears of not keeping it off. If I can motivate someone else then even better! biggrin.gif

I was a little down this week. My mom and I finally are starting over. So this labor day I went to their picnic. I didn't do bad there. I had a little extra chips (doritos cool ranch are a soft spot for me, so it was probably a little more than "a little extra" huh.gif ). The rest of the week was hard b/c I didn't get any work done for school and went into the week behind. We are changing our program at school to an Academy approach and a lot of people are negative about it. So it was hard to keep positive and not want to munch. I ate a little extra here and there but I think I was restrained (under my normal circumstances I would have done a LOT more than what I did); plus I had a sore throat. I can't eat salads when my throat is sore. weird. Then I didn't go to the gym but once this week. So i kept telling myself this is not going to undo all that you have done. gaining this week is okay. You won't gain the 23 lbs that you lost back in that one week. Just keep going and sticking with it and you can lose it again. I think for a lot of us it is very important to have these little conversations with ourselves. Our brains are already having the negative ones without us being aware. Got to retrain that subconscious! rolleyes.gif And, hurricane, you are right...progress not perfection. For me I have to learn the process...that is the most rewarding for me. To know that I can do this and the goal is icing on the cake.

Ok so for the really EXCITING part of my week: I AM NOW SHOPPING IN THE MISSES SECTION!!!!!!!!!!! My mom lost 42 lbs at WW and we went shopping for me b/c none of my pants were fitting. So I had to get some more. She is wearing a 14 now and I tried on her clothes before we went and I fit into some of hers. I am mainly in a misses 16, but depending on the style I could do a 14! My mom was like I am not high fiving every time something fits! lol I said yes you are, cuz I haven't been in this size in about ten or 11 years! You know I did NS before this but I can tell you that even though I lost a lot of weight on it (40lbs) I just feel lighter now and more of a loss. Maybe b/c I am dealing with it or I am just so much closer to my goal. I don't know. Anyways, I do know to keep it up ladies. I feel great!

Thanks for all the congrats!! Now I am even happier! After the 20 lbs this past Tuesday at WI I only lost 0.8 but it brought me down to the 170's!!! (just barely - 179.4 but I am there!!) WAAAAHOOOOO!!! biggrin.gif

A big congrats to you MORN!!! Isn't that such a great feeling??? Making it under 200! WOW!!!Then also the clothes!! You should be so proud of yourself. I am proud of you!! I am not buying any I am just wearing ones I saved and finally fit into after about 2 years! Thanks for thinking positive, I haven't been working out like I use to since school started and I the only delicious food I eat is JC. But you are correct I have been working on school! It is keeping me busy these first few weeks. I am team leader this year so I have extra duties. Keep it up MORN you are doing awesome!!

Awesome job, Morn!! I love when I get to go shopping and get inot a smaller size. That hasn't happened in a while for me. But my big YAY for the week is that I have lost 30.2 pounds now. Its taken a while (since Feb), but I'm okay with that! I'm so pumped and can't wait to get out of the 200s. Only a few more pounds to go.

I know that temptation of stressful work well. Just keep pressing on. I keep telling myself that I don't want to give my boss (that where most of my stress comes from) the satisfaction of watching me gain all this weight back because she stressed me out. I may not have control over what happens at my school, but I definitely have control over what I eat and what size I am!

Keep up the great work everyone!

Oh and Cropper great job on makin gthe 170s!

That is so true about us having control over our size and what we eat. If we let these stressors get to us it is only hurting us. I am going to keep remembering that. I teach threes and it is all crying all day for me right now with an assistant that does not move very well, so it is very physical for me as well, uhg!!! But I will not turn to food. Reading all these just makes it easier for me to stay away because I can see all of you are going through the same thing. Down another pound this week. My consultant made me laugh by saying it is like losing a pound of chopped meat. You can really see it like that. Well that makes 11.6 in five weeks for me. Keep it up everyone, and thanks for the continued insiration.

Hi. I'm on my fifth day and I'm a teacher... well subbing right now until I can sub my way into a job. I'm not thirty yet but I was reading the twenty-somethings forum and I really didn't feel like I fit in with them because of my lifestyle (school, housecleaning angry.gif , husband etc... ) I don't have much time for partying and drinking on the weekend and a good weekend usually consist getting to watch a movie with my husband or shopping with my sister. This week I had to babysit freshman all week for a World Geography class- that wore me out.

I weighed in at 224.5 this week at initial weigh in and right now I'm working on below 200 and then I will concentrate losing the rest, it would be nice to get back to my college days weight of 155-165. I'm not even going to try for my High School weight.

I decided that I needed to do something when I saw a picture from my 23th birthday (right before i met my husband) and thought I look pretty good there. I weighed about 165.

I think my weight gain had a lot to do with eating on the go and the fact that my husband eats like a toddler.

I've done pretty good this week and stuck to the menu. Jenny Craig has been easy at the school and I found out that the principle goes to my center (and she knew my name and recognized me outside of school). YAY!

Hopefully yall (I'm from Texas) will let me join your forum. Thanks.

~Casey
