Well, I thought I had the gas problem licked but today I not only had gas and cramping, but I also spent a lot of time in the bathroom (TMI, I know). I'm only on my second week, but I can't have days like today. I tried a digestive aid for people with Ibs, yup got that, and it seemed to work until today. I hope this resolves soon because I have high hopes for this plan.

It is NOT the veggies! It is the Anytime bar! I have been banned from eating it by my husband. Certain dishes of JC also cause gas. Pepto Bismo also works to get rid of the gas.

I don't know how to say this politely but .... The food makes me gassy. Anybody else have this problem ? I was wondering if the food has alot of preservatives or added chemicals ?

YES!!!!
I wondered if all the "gas" was from some supplements I was taking; but then I stopped taking them but the "gas" remained.

I am glad to see I am not the only one wondering about this. I have NEVER been a "gassy" person before.

Yes, the excessive flatulence and bloating are a terrible issue! This is caused by the JC food by a newly added ingredient, Inulin. I have been a JC Lifetime Member since 1990 and never have I had this problem with her food.

Inulin-containing foods can be rather gassy, in particular, for those unaccustomed to inulin, and these foods should be consumed in moderation at first. However, inulin is a natural fiber. It is not a chemical or synthetic.

My JC Center was able to provide me with a list of foods that contain Inulin; ~35 items. Once of which are the Peanut Butter Chocolate Anytime bars! sad.gif

They say that the flatulence can be decreased by drinking water. It never worked for me.

I am trying to create a JC menu for myself that avoids too many inulin items per week. Evidently, our systems are not used to Inulin, and it's best to incorporate it into your system little-by-little.

Google Inulin and you can learn about it.

Increase your water too. There are ~35 JC food products that contain a new ingredient called Inulin. Ask your Center for a copy of those products and see if you can substitute some of the items.

Evidently, Beeno, has been helpful for some. Others can hardly remain in public, at the office or around their families. This most definitley is an issue.

It is horrible.... some weeks worse than others... I was also eating sugar-free hard candy and that made the problem much worse.
I will try the Bean-O to see if it helps. Thanks. At least I know I am not alone cool.gif

I'm vegetatian so I've always eaten lots of veggies and beans so I can tell you if you have more gas its not from eating extra veggies its from the Jenny's food! I've only been at this for 3 days and can't believe the extra gas and bloating!

I've been on the program two months and found that the anytime bars were the main culprit. However, I still have the problem, but just to a lesser extent. It's been so bad, my co-workers have made comments to my boss sad.gif - we work in very tight quarters. I have to find a solution to this problem or I will have to quit the program!!! I can't afford to quit my job!

I recently found information that says that green beans and spinach are about the only non-gassy vegetables and that grapes and cherries are the only non-gassy fruits. So no more broccoli, etc. I'm also going to cut out the JC products that have soy protein and beans/lentils. Hopefully that will help. I'm also going to check ou the ingredient Inulin.

Any suggestions??

Thank you so much for posting! I have been wanting to but too embarrased to do so. It was really bad the first couple of weeks but it seems to have calmed down a little bit. The oatmeal anytime bars are the most offending! Im hoping its just getting used to all the new food we are eating!

For me personally, it's the Jenny Craig foods that contain 'Inulin' aka Chicory Root Extract. I have a sensitivity to it - causes me terrible smelly gas. As soon as I dropped all the foods that had Inulin as an ingredient (also beans to it to me), I had no more problems! Unfortunately, many many of the JC foods have Inulin - especially the Anytime bars and the cakes. My JC consultant provided a list of all the products with that ingredient, so I have crossed them off of my list!
Good luck.

I found it was all the soy in the food. I was tested and found I had a sensitivity to it, which was causing all the problems. This was two years ago. Does anyone know if the new foods by Nestle are any better as far as the ingredients that are causing this problem?

I have been having the same problem since I started Jenny, and it is definitely not the anytime bars because I don't eat those. As my dad used to say, I am "farting into February." Gas-x and Beeno have not helped the situation.

I have this problem every time I come back to JC. I get gassy. Usually is passes in a few weeks, didn't for my mom though. For her the anytime bars were the issue. For me they are as well, but my body adjusts and after I get used to the food I'm better. Not 100% but better =)
