My biggest issue is that I live alone with my very skinny 14 year old son who eats like a horse. He's pretty respectful of my Jenny food, he only eats it if he asks first and I say OK (I let him eat some this week 'cuz I had this major financial thing that is taking a LONG time to get settled and in the meantime I am broke!). So here I am eating hardly anything and there he is eating almost everything!
Last night he had a pizza that we got free from Pizza Hut 'cuz they dropped our last one and they threw in some breadsticks just to be nice. I was able to fend off the pizza (calling my name...Rene....Rene...come eat me....) but I blew it and ate a bread stick (it was calling louder...RENE...RENE...RENE...JUST ONE....come on....OK, I give in )

I live in California with my two teenaged daughters. They are my biggest cheerleaders. We all joined the gym together and go workout. It's fun. They don't eat my JC food but my older daughter eats everything else. It's frustrating when you go to get something and it's gone. You can probably relate.
I have a 19 year old son too. He is in the Airforce.

I'm trying to lose 30 pounds now.. mostly because, my daughter wants me to SWIM with her.
I don't want to miss out on fun times like this with her anymore because I can't find a swimsuit that I could bare to wear in public.
I know in just a few short years, she won't necessarily want Mom to swim with her, lol. So.. here I am, starting this process again.

Hi, I am a single mother of three awesome kids ages 13, 12 and 10. I've been on this program since April of 07 so about 10 months now and I've lost almost 100 pounds. I love Jenny and can't wait to reach my goal which is only 20 pounds away. I hope to make it by my one year anniversary. It's nice to meet all of you and I hope to talk more soon

hi I am a single mom of a 10 yr old who does not eat healthy (only veggies he will do is peas : ( due to some autistic spectrum issues w/ food textures but he never had a weight issue until i took him off the adhd medicine in 12/2005. Now he is in the overweight category which is hard to swallow when he had such a small percentage of body fat before. I never had a weight problem until I had my son and then the weight never completely came back off which is probably due to the fact that I did not return to my same active lifestyle. Now I am just 23 lbs from my goal which will be within 5 lbs of my pre-pregnancy weight.
as a part time JC consultant, I find that myself & my clients munch out of boredom. If you must stay awake for a while after the kids are down, can you work out>? One of my favorite work outs was doing the lateral stair climber set up behind the couch while I organized my TIVO shows to be taped or deleted. That usually eats up 15 mins before you even realize hey i am exercising. Then I would look at my planner for the next day if I really was feeling good read a little bit of a book. When you are done you could easily have 30 mins of activity under your belt. At this time if you are still wanting to munch have a salad, vegetable some free fruits or gelatin, do some light cleaning 15-20 mins, take a warm shower, & jump in the bed you deserve it girl !!

I'm 35. Single mom to a 15-year-old girl. She was somewhat pudgy when she was little, when I was thin. (ironic?) In the last couple of years, she has grown taller (she's 5' 6", I'm 5' 3") and she's super-slim.
Her and her friend joined the gym with me and have also been encouraging.
I've tried to include healthy foods all of her life, but we ate fast food A LOT. We don't do that any more!
I look forward to getting slim again and sharing her clothes!! (shirts anyway, I'm too short for her pants!)

I am a single mom of an 11 year old boy. Although he is not tall and slim, he is really benefitting from my Jenny Craig program! He has actually lost about 20 lbs (which was necessary) since the end of August, without really trying too hard. But since there is less junk in the house and I am doing a lot more cooking instead of stopping off to pick something up quick at takeout or even at the grocery store, he is eating a lot more healthily. He hasn't had a diet pop in about 5 months I think, we don't even have any in the house anymore. Water, juice for him and that's about it! My weight loss is a bit more than his (and a lot more effort!!!!!!) but we are both kind of enjoying the lifestyle!
How are you doing so far?

Hi laura,
My name is Bev and I have a 13 y.o. daughter. She is also my world. I've been with JC since 2006 and recently decided to start using the forums to get encouragement from other members! Congrats on your 13 lb weight loss. I hope you are still finding success with the program. As for myself, I've been up and down but this is the day that I reclaim myself and be the best I can be. You should be proud of yourself and continue to utilize all the tools provided to you by JC. I know you will be successful!! Take care and hope to hear (or read) from you soon!
