I'm not a military wife but I am a Navy veteran. You are right...there is not enough support and appreciation for the military wives and husbands.
I can't imagine, had I been married when I was deployed, how horrible and lonely it would've been for me and my husband.
Hating yourself will not accomplish anything, except most likely more weight gain. This program works. Just surf around these boards and you'll find lots of hope from people, men and women, just like you- who felt hopeless.
You deserve to be healthy, happy and well for your husband and family... and, most importantly, for yourself. You are no good to anyone when you hate yourself. You become a burden and a worry to others. I'm sure that's not what you want.
Find a great thread here and join in. You'll find lots of support and advice.
Good luck and let us know how you're doing.

I've been where you are. My husband was in the Air Force and served a year in Iraq 2006-2007, and like you, I am an emotional eater. I think the single most important thing for me was social support. For me, my church group was really important.
My hubby's now a contractor, but he's back in Iraq and it looks like we are both trying to lose weight with our husband's overseas. So let's all stick together.

Hi, My name is Chyna. I understand exactly what you're going through. My husband was In Iraq for ten months. He just got back in July. He left two weeks after our daughter was born and It was just me and her and my two year old son by ourselves for the longest. It will be hard but It's something you will have to force yourself to do. On this journey you will discover new things about yourself and you wll become a better person. (Not that I doubt you are a great person) Time apart only makes you stronger. I too, just started the program recently and I am very proud of you and everyone else who has began this adventure and congradulate those who are almost to their goals and those who have met their goals. I know things will be hard for you but just know you do have a friend here. Good Luck!

I was hoping to read what some military wives had to say. My husband is in the Navy and we have been stationed aboard Camp Pendleton for 4 years and I have met to many Navy wives here. Just found out I'm going to be here 6 more years. I'm actually from Texas and miss my family a great deal. I have 3 kids ages 3, 9, and 11 yrs old they are amazing. I kind of got off track with my dieting and gained much of what I lost over the holidays.
