I know that feeling all too well. There are only so many shoes and handbags you can buy before you need to make a decision.
I started JC 2 weeks ago and I'm loving it so far. I'm down 2.8 kilos and I'm way more active simply out of motivation for the program.
Why not find your nearest centre and go have a chat? There is no obligation so you can go home and think about it before commiting yourself.
Best of luck and health!
Siren
P.S. Where is Oz are you?

thank you for responding to me - the only thing that is stopping me is the cost - it is pretty expensive when you are on a tight budget - any advice?
Wow, 2.8 kilos in 2 weeks - that is fantastic - keep up the good work - obviously jc works and i have no doubts.
I might just do that - go for a chat - and see if they can work out some sort of payment arrangement - do they do that?

I know I used to spend about $15 a day on coffee and lunch PLUS the normal groceries for all the other meals/snacks in a day.
For me, it actually works out to about the same if not less.
Next, you move to 5 days JC and 2 days on your own. Maybe you could start at that level to cut costs? No harm in asking!
Also, you may be able to get the meals and buy your own snacks, just make sure that they fit in with your kilojoule count.
Right now they have a promotion going $10 for 10 kilos. You could try that and possibly upgrade when you have the dosh?
Talking to your nearest centre would answer all those questions and maybe inspire you to get started!
Good luck!

They are pretty flexible with their payment plans, which was what was holding me back - so I am estatic!

Perth is pretty crappy right now. Highs of 18 or so, windy and rainy. Not that I'm complaining! A few more weeks and we won't see rain for 6 months...lol Can't wait for the warm weather totake hold tho.. this rain is keeping me from my walking. (Still losing tho)
Keep me updated, Doll. We can do this!

Siren, have you had another weigh in yet? How did you go and how are you going with the foods - do you get hungry?
#9
Posted 30 September 2005 - 06:30 PM
i weighed in at 203.5lb (92.5kg) and goal is 132lb (60kg) (but i want to lose more than that - my consultant told me we will discuss that when we get to goal. So I need to lose 71.5lb (32.5kg) - that is alot of weight.... BUT I CAN DO IT!!!!

Congratulations on joining! I find the food very nice and the treats keep me from going on a chocolate frenzy (wait til you try the choc caramel bar - heaven!)
The first week I had a bit of hunger pangs but I used the free food and pickles and that worked well for me. Now I keep some sugarless jelly in the fridge in case I get a "sweet" craving and I have no JC treats left. Now, I only get hungry a half hour before my next meal or snack (which is easily handled by water.)
I can't stress the water thing enough!! Drink HEAPS! At first you feel bloated a lot but after a few days you crave water and it keeps you from retaining.
I'm not much of an exerciser but I've started walking a half hour every day (twice around the park) The whole thing is really motivating and combining all those efforts works! I've lost 4 kilos so far (3 weigh-ins) and I'm aiming for 3 more this month.
Keep me updated, Doll!

I'm on day 4 of week 4 and I'm down another half kilo already.. I'll make it a full one by Saturday!!
No more daggy clothes for me!! Or you either!
Congratulations on your first weigh in.
How do you like your consultant? Feel like she's motivating? My whole office are great and they ALL join you in celebrating your successes. I hope you've got the same thing!

You had the same concerns I had, cost!
But I really think I'll save money by not eating fast food (pizza and burgers) all the time! Maybe it is the same for you?
Be careful with some of the Non-frozen foods, they are not as tasty as the frozen. Frozen foods are very satisfying, satisfaction = sticking with it.
My counselor told me that Kirsty Alley did Menu Day 1 3-4 times a week and still lost wt. French toast for Breakfast and fettucini for dinner, cake for dessert!
I love JC.
Good luck to you!
Keep checking in.

Welcome Cellu Lite (check second paragrah)
I'm here Thanks for being concerned for me . I havent been on the board - have been busy with work and the family, and of course busy eating ALL this food!! But I'm back now and promise I wont worry you again
Siren, keep up the good work - you are doing so well - can you imagine? How good will we feel when all this excess weight is off us!! All we need to do is think of our goal and we will get there....keep me up to date with your progress - I have now changed my days to Tuesdays (for weigh ins) so i have to wait until next week... I look forward to your next post and your next weight loss...
Cellu Lite
You are right, you save money in the long run and you eat healthier....
I'll keep that in mind about the non-frozen foods - I have tasted a couple and I do agree with you - not as tasty as the frozen, just as well we can change to our liking......mmmmm....I'll take a page out of Kirsty's book and might do the same with the foods that i especially love...
Please let me know how you go with your weight.... JENNY CRAIG, YOU'RE THE BEST!!

You all sound so fun!! Its my first week and I'm loving it. Weighed in today and lost 4.4 lbs. I was bummed a bit, wanting more (American attitude, huh!?!?!) and then I thought of butter... yes, butter. I thought of a pound of butter, is four sticks and that means I lost 16.5 sticks of butter! Now THAT made me grin - I do need visuals. Its the closest thing to a jar of fat to look at that I could come up with - but it made me pat myself on the back and be grateful. I want to lose about 50 lbs... I'm down 4.4 of that.
How do you do that ticker tape?

I went to tickerfactory.com (I think you can click my ticker and get there). Once there, it is an easy step by step process.
The last page has different codes on it, copy the bbCode and paste it into a notepad document on your desktop, so you can get to it easier later.
Then, everytime you post a "reply" copy the bbCode into the "message" part.
Don't make the mistake I did and put it in your profile, it won't work.
You have to post it with every reply where you want it to show up.
I love the butter example!
