Donna, I LOVE St. Croix Falls State Park. That's my favoriate hiking park (when I'm fit enough to hike, that is). My leg had best be healed by the time the water freezes angry.gif It darn well better be healed by then, yessirrreee! We camp at St. Croix Falls. This year we reported the bathrooms being kind of dirty and run down. Otherwise, it has been one of our favoriate Wisconsin state parks.

Count down to golf tournament next Friday. Yikes! I have a volunteer meeting to do tonight and then just hope a few more folks put teams in. I've got the rest all done and I'm satisfied. Would just like more teams; that seems to be down this year. Bummer.

Mowed the lawn last night and Baby B (under grandpa's direction) sprayed me with the water hose. And Papa had the nerve to laugh while I'm yelling, "no, no, no!!!!!"

Have you looked on eBay for JC foods deep discount from drop outs?

Suzanne

Dear Mrs Kite Lady I must tell you how much I love your name! I totally relate and agree with gourd feelings about perception, perception. 200 gone/2 years gone and I am still considered FAT. Of course I am yet still, I no longer want to be perceived as "fat" oh, just struggling with the thought of doing this another year.

It is terrific to have lost 200, but end up still at a weight most begin T ... Excuse me just fee,ing bait down today.

Advice for you. We both have nearly identical amounts to be at goal so like Butch & Sundace jumpin off the cliff - let' hold hands and jumpm "he double hockey sticks, the fall will probably kill us! "

Hey Girls!

Lynn--that park is amazing! Too bad that the "devil's chair" is no longer. Sounds like vandals did the deed in distroying it. There were pictures of it in a calendar I sent my sister last Christimas. She lives in Cleveland and I always send her a Wisconsin scenery calendar for her office each year.

I thought about you and how you like to kayak when I was there. I saw some kayakers on the river--it looked like they were having lots of fun! I was told that there's a place to rent the boats and then they come and pick you up downstream so you don't have to paddle back.

Suzanne--I never gave Ebay a thought. I'm not familiar on how to use Ebay, but it's worth looking into. I really like your screen name too--it's fun to say out loud. As for my screen name, as you can kinda tell, I build and fly kites as a hobby. I like doing workshops with kids too and one time a young boy couldn't remember my name so he called me "Mrs. Kite Lady". I've used it ever since.

I say let's jump together--actually the fall won't kill us but the landing might! I'm glad we can look out for each other and hold each other accountable...So Thema and Louise!

Well have other things to get to, but it's always great chatting with you guys!

Hi Ladies, quick fly by as I drink down my protein shake. Good to see a connection in you two, Suzanne, and Donna. Having the same amount to lose would be great motivation to stick together.

Not much to report here. Did a nice 2 mile jaunt in my yak last night and I told you the wildlife I came upon. Lovely! Hope to get a lot of time in it this weekend, as we're not camping anywhere. Some friends have invited us to pull the camper to their summer home area in a couple of weeks. Will be good to see them, as it is usually only once a year. Met them in our joint horseback riding days.

Oh, heck, yeah, won't be needing my size 6 mother-of-the groom dress. They've called off the big day and probably a good thing. If you've followed it earlier, you'd know of the bride's commitment difficulties and still at this point, she's not willing to move here to join DS where he already has established a career. She's currently bartending and could move, but unwilling. So be it. I'm just thankful they didn't get any further than the ring, which he can return. Now I just wish him a fun and safe summer to "forget". Send him some prayers, gals. He's OK, better than the last time they broke up, but it still hurts my heart.

OK, must run, all. TTYL

Hey again!

Lynn--so sorry about your DS sad.gif I know it must hurt, but if this is the second breakup, there's a message coming from her...and he's better off. He's also still your baby (no matter how old he is) and when he hurts, you hurt. You are right, he should take the summer to heal. Love will find him when he's not looking.

Sounds like you have some fun stuff planned--enjoy being on the water. I wish I could be there with you.

By the way-whereabouts do you live? Maybe on one of my trips up north, we could meet.

Suzanne--Ok, here's my accountability--stayed on track until about 8:00pm last night. My son made pizza and it smelled soooooo good, I had a 1" slice. At about 11:00pm (I really should have just gone to bed) I had a small bowl of Trix cereal-no milk. Today--so far so good...

But I have news---I GOT A NEW JOB!!!! I start Tuesday. It's a permanent one, so no more temp agency. I will be the Patient Care Coordinator for a hearing center. Basically doing front office work, setting appointments, greeting customers, etc. The pay is a smidg better and I don't have to commute as far. I get benefits and a bonus for each device the center sells. The only bad thing is I'll miss the friends I've made where I'm at.

Well, lunch is over and I need to start packing up my office to move out. Have a great holiday weekend, ladies!

Donna, that job sounds like great news for you. Good going. Didn't realize you were looking, so that is a major blessing.

I live in Hayward, Wisconsin. Tourist area so a visit would not be uncommon up in our neck of the woods. Come on up!

Only 91 degrees here today. After freezing for so long, I still don't like this kind of heat, yuk! No air conditioning in our little house.

Running out the door to get to the bank and post office before closing, gals. Ta ta!

Michigan returns...FINALLY!! Wow...what a busy 2 weeks I have had. I have checked in a couple of times and saw your posts. Congrats on the new job Donna. It does sound like a good one and benefits are huge if you didn't have them while temping. Good luck Tues.

Lynn..can I drive over and visit your tourist town also? Maybe I could take the boat across Lk Michigan and then drive north. Sure do wish I could. It would be fun to meet you.

OK...so the wedding is done and all is well. It was one of the most beautiful weddings I have attended and very emotional. They did a foot washing which the pastor said he had never had performed at a wedding before. Shows how they will serve each other in every way. I got lots of compliments about how pretty I looked, especially my hair.
My nieces told me they had never seen me all in black and they loved it. Guess I passed.

It took me 3 days to wake up from the post-wedding fog. Just when I did my car quit on me. UGH! The thing is old and has been costing me lots of repair money. Decided to throw it away..OK so I got 1,000 bucks for it..and got a new-used car. It is awesome..Buick LaSabre, 2004, silver, 4 door with some bells and whistles on it and...drumroll please...only 44,000 miles on it!! It is costing me more then I wanted to spend but I was approved and will make it happen. Can't get it til Wednesday due to the holiday and bank closings.

Trying to keep my balance in life. Have lost about 10# which is the effect of the new diabetic med I am taking. Lots of side-effects so it is making me not hungry. I can handle side-effects that bring on weight loss. LOL

Time for bed. Take care my cheesehead friends.

Martha

Come on over to my tourist town in a boat, Martha. I'll meet you in my kayak biggrin.gif Sounds like your wedding was great, girl. Wish we could see a picture of how good you looked, woman. Congrats on your new car, too. We have a 2000 Impala with 160,000 miles on it and a 2005 Ford truck. The car has been paid off for years, but we bought the truck used last year and I want to pay it off early.

I spent some time weeding in our garden today. My first time I've spent a lot of time in a garden for a very long time. Was hot but therapeutic. I'm also getting ready for a large family garage sale in a few weeks. Matt has been going through the piles making sure I don't throw the dog away; I've got so much stuff put to the side. laugh.gif

Did OK on the food today; not great. Tomorrow I should be even busier and I hope to get my yak on the lake for a couple hours, somewhere between weeding, garage sale prepping, laundry, etc. Wish me luck. Later gators.

Hello Slimin07!

I've been out of the forums for a while but saw your post today. I go to the Madison East center. Whereabouts in WI do you live. I'm from Deerfield, about 15 East of Madison.

I've lost quite a bit on JC, but have been on a plateau for about a year. I've noticed the scale creeping up but I hope it's because I've gone from 1 hr of exercise per week to 5+.

I need to get motivated with foods again, as that is my weakest point. I'm a stress eater, boredom eater, special occasion eater--well you get the picture. I've got about 65 lbs more to lose. I've also given in to my friends who are saying "you look so good, and look how far you've come". So I'm turning to beginners to get motivated again and find new inspiration for this second half of my journey.

Shall we journey together?

Hey Donna! I'm with ya! I've been gone a few weeks, too, and need to get back to pay attention. I need to get off the 5 pounds that creeped back on after my knee surgery. Shall we do this together?

Wausau, WI...
I'm actually not an official JC yet...I'm on HMR-mainly because I need the face-to-face contact to stay on this darn thing. This is through the Marshfield Clinic and so far, it seems good. The food is decent. We need more JC centers in this state. Had there been a JC here, I would've joined in a heartbeat.
Hey I was born in Wausau. Now live by Fond du Lac, been on Jenny for 3 months have lost 30 pounds. I have 2 pounds to go to reach my half way. Plan to reach that this week. Walk, swim, Zumba, and even garden!
