Completed week 1 and logged a 3lb loss, which is good. It was unfortunate that I had weighed myself at home before starting and the day off and found a loss of 10. Needless to say I was a little down after the wi. I came home and adjusted my scale to match the one at the center. The consult went ok, though my counselor wasn't there and I got a new person who seemed pleasant but the chemistry was different. Packaged my order and made 2 mistakes which I noticed after my 30 mile drive home. Despite the rough start, I am committed to the program and plan to bring good reports from here on out. Later....

Ok, I have just completed week 3 and have lost 2.5 more for a total of 7 lbs. Week 2 was a little frustrating at 1.5 lbs but I am sure that I am losing more fat and gaining muscle. I am doing resistance training 3x a week, and 45 minutes of cardio (treadmill or elliptical) 6x a week. I know I'm not setting any records on losing the weight quickly, but I am certainly heading in the right direction for a change. I've given up diet soda totally for water with flavoring packets mixed in (the packets I get at walmart have 0 cals, 0 carbs). I find I drink almost a gallon of water a day now. I have charted my progress and project that I should reach my goal around the beginning of September '08. In the meantime, I have monthly goals established and the results are printed and hung on the fridge.

Later gents,
Andy

I have been on JC since Aug 07. this is the only plan I have ever been on that I have continued to lose weight.
I see the end in site. Started 308 now 237. This month has been hard. to much off plan stuff. Had to eat out to many times. But Monday back to basics. We try to have something off plan twice a week. But we didn't do that until we had been on 3 months. Large mushrooms grilled then topped with onions and a small amount of no fat ricotta cheese is a great meat sub. But if you have to have a steak go get a 4 oz one and add lots of veggies and eat it slow. Keep with the plan.

Hello Gentlemen, Greetings from Lincoln NE. I just started exploring the website and found these forums. i have been on the program for 10 weeks and have laost 40.4 lbs so far! trying to set an example for my kids and save about a hundred dollars a month on medications. I completely changed who i was on Jan 3, i told my consultant that i had to be a completely different person for my health and to be around for my kids. I am a single dad with four kids under the age of seven. You would think that running after 4 kids would be enough but sadly it isn't. I think the food is great and i have not met anentree that i did not like, although i cannot choke down the cheesecake, it is too rich for me!! My kids are young but they are my biggest support, they argue each night over who is going to make my salad for me aand as we go thru the grocery store they remind me of things that are not on the plan and they tell everyone they meet that their daddy is getting skinnier by the day. I cant wait till the weather warms up so we can go to the park and ride bikes together and know that we will not have to come home early because dad is to tired. i sincerely owe my life to My Dad, my kids and to jenny craig. i was looking for convienence and simplicity and i found it here. I do not have tme to count calories, I am too busy counting kids to make sure that i have them all!!. They are all into sports and swimming lessons and Scouting and I want to be there for them thru all of it.

Well I hope that every has a successful journey I know I will with my kids beside me in this how can I fail!

I hope to be supportive of others that might need it and maybe devlop some friendships that might support me when i need it.

Heres hoping that we can all see less of ourselves in the future!!

Thanks for listening.

Hi there I been with JC for 8 months now. I gained a pound last week. angry.gif But life will go on. I have gained 3 times since i started. Only a pound each time.I just need to get back to basics. I have lost 70 lbs. I started at 308 and this morning I weighted in at 238. I am going to make my goal. I hope by July. This is the only plan I have ever been on that I was sure of.

eagle81 keep up the good work. my kids are grown. and I have no grand kids yet. But I want to be around to teach my grand kids how to play golf and how to spit and other stuff their moms will hate.
I am proud to hear of a single dad doing the plan and doing good. Keep it up.

Andy keep up the good work. thanks for the note. If you are working out and not losing you may be adding muscle. or your body may be holding fat because you are burning too many cals a day. Stay with it you might need an extra snack on the days you work out hard. good luck.

It's interesting to read so much goal-oriented talk here. I think it's really important to live life in the moment. As QLatifah says, you should feel proud of who you are no matter what you look like. Yes, every week that goes by when you make positive instead of negative progress makes you feel better about your power over your destiny. Yes, every inch you drop makes you feel less horrible when you're trying to tuck in your shirt or bend over. But what matters is not where you end up in your weight, but what habits you have learned when you go out on your own again.

Some people maybe should never go out on their own. I see some women who have become semi-permanent support members in the forum. Certainly food addiction (knowing it will have a GUARANTEED temporary feel-good effect) is just as real as any other kind (alcohol, drugs, porn, smoking, you name it).

Anyway, I didn't learn the skills as well as I should and when I got dumped in a foreign environment I slid back. So I'm getting back on the program when I get home.

Here was my chant as I rode my bike, elliptical, or ran:
I don't care how long it takes, how much it costs, or how much it hurts. I am going to be in charge of my body again.
It took me a year to lose 60 pounds. The new rule will be "5 pounds is actionable". Of course that requires trend-averaging, which of course means regular weigh-in (daily is better than weekly). This just requires a shift in priority, so that knowing whether my fitness is on track is not optional.

Maybe we guys can try to think up some individual threads to start focused discussion.

At age 60 and 290 lbs with high cholesterol, i have been on and off jc for about 5 years. the program always works for me when im on it, but when i go off it, i fail every time- the weight just comes back.

I have concluded that I am a food addict and at my age, this is it for me so i really want to make it work this time. im not even sure what my idal weight is anymore. i played college football, spent years weight lifting and 230 was my old playing weight. in high school i was 185.

this time im going to lose pounds in 20 lb increments and see how low i can get. i walk everyday but told the wife there will be no more 430 pm cocktail hour. its water, flavored water or club sodea for me when the ice is clinking in the glass- no more daily manhattans.

looking forward to readign this post regularly. hope yo all lose a ton of weight and can KEEP IT OFF. good luck to all of you. my first shipment arrives tomorrow 25 april 08.

Hi guys, I'm Randy 49, started mid-January at 242, now I'm closing in on 200...I can't wait for a 199.
I love the food. I use fat free sour cream, a salsa I love, chopped onions, and mustard (the 0 calorie wonder condiment) to extend meals.
I had sleep apnea and would wake up in the middle of the night gasping for air (living nightmare to not be able to breathe)
I'd start each day with (literally) six cans of Red Bull...3 weeks ago I stopped caffeine drinks, not on purpose, but by accidentally realizing I wasn't drinking them anymore. Because the weight loss cured the sleep apnea and I can breathe at night again. I sleep 6 or so hours straight instead of 45 minutes at a stretch.
So I have endless new energy I dont know what to do with, all because of JC.

If youre at a gym its fun to pick up a bar bell that equals your weight loss. Its astonishing.

On day 100, i calculated that i had average .34 lbs of loss per day--wow!

(But I still wish it was faster) It was frustrating at first since me weighing 10 lbs less, was just a number. Still fat. After two months though (of patience and faith) "suddenly" i'm wearing an L instead of busting an XL shirt.

Good luck everyone!

Hi

I have been on the program for over a year and I have lost about 75 pounds. I'm just now starting to lift weights again , which is scary for me. I used to lift for power now, just reps. I've been walking about 40 miles a week, and just went over the 1000 mile club for walking.

I just have to say that this program works if you stick to it.

Just joined and had heard there are a lot of guys doing this program. I checked this area out and it's so quiet!!
It's my first week and so far it's going pretty good. I miss my steaks, chicken and pork that took up 1/2 to 3/4 of the plate!!! But the food is pretty good. Don't think I have eaten this many vegetables and fruits in one week ever!
Trying to get down to about 160 from 206. Tried Atkins which worked well and was approved by my Dr. (have diabetes) and it made a big difference, but was so hard to stick with (not convenient at all). South Beach wasn't bad, but portion control was an issue. This seemed like the right balance with all the work done for me. It is pricey, but you get what you pay for
So come on guys, I could use a friend or 2 to get through this

the convenience keeps me coming back. I started at 294 ten weeks ago and tonight am at 238!! It can be done and without killing yourself. I work out every morning, doing 2 miles on the treadmill or 4 or 5 miles on a stationary bike. I am having knee surgery tomorrow, so I'm interested to see what happens this next week. Stick with it and drink plenty of water, I know you'll be sucessful. Good Luck.

Someonehasmyname, We are actually spending more than what we would normally pay for food but from the results we have seen so far, I think it is money well spent. I told my wife that when we each reach our goal weight that I would take her somewhere with beautiful sandy beaches. I am looking forward to it so much! I still have 138 lbs to go but thinking about the reward at the end is giving me such a desire to exercise more and stick to the program.

i haven't done the proper math, but I am very sure that I am saving money on this program. I've had the 30% discount on JC food for several weeks now. It was amazing how much I was spending on drive-thrus and home delivery, especially deliveries for huge amounts of Chinese Food, Tony Romas, local premium pizza places, gee... what else ?

Hi Guys. I started a couple weeks ago @ 217,attempting to get to around 190 at the end of May (already lost around 10 lbs.). Food is good, excercising alot more, and have a great counseler. Ive been learning about portion control, nutritional eating and I'm confident I can keep the weight off with all the knowledge I have been "feeding" my brain. I do find it rather expensive especially when you include all your fresh food along with your Jenny food. I have budgeted myself to get to my goal weight in three months. Ya think I can do it? I'm sure I can, just gotta think positive.
