It's my first week and so far it's going pretty good. I miss my steaks, chicken and pork that took up 1/2 to 3/4 of the plate!!! But the food is pretty good. Don't think I have eaten this many vegetables and fruits in one week ever!
Trying to get down to about 160 from 206. Tried Atkins which worked well and was approved by my Dr. (have diabetes) and it made a big difference, but was so hard to stick with (not convenient at all). South Beach wasn't bad, but portion control was an issue. This seemed like the right balance with all the work done for me. It is pricey, but you get what you pay for
So come on guys, I could use a friend or 2 to get through this

I too have been lurking here for a couple of weeks. This is my 3rd week on JC and things are going great. This seems like a lot of food to eat and my stomach was not happy during the first week, but has since calmed down.
I started at 260 in Jan. 2006. I joined ediets.com and lost about 40 lbs, then I quit. I gained about 13 lbs back and started ediets again in Jan. of this year. I lost about 16 lbs and hit a brick wall. I just could not lose any more. My wife and I joined JC and I have lost 4.6lbs. This is exactly what I needed. The meals are so easy and I don't have to cook them in advance.

I thought I might have issues with that because of the increased sugar/carbs.
A strange question, did anyone else find that they were urinating ALOT when they first started? I know its not related to high sugar levels as I test regularly. I figure its the water loss from the decrease in calories and increase in liquid intake.

I also had that experience with the water loss. The only thing I can think of is the low amount of salt that we take in. I never have been a big salt eater, but all of the food that I was eating was loaded with the stuff. I didn't find that out until I actually started reading the labels on my food.

My motivation to get started was a visit to my doctor where my weight had balooned to the highest in my life (280) plus my BP was 170. That scared the crap out of me. I was at JC before the day was over. BTW spouse also joined so we are doing it together.

I am still around also, don't log-in often but still on the program with my wife. I am down to 204 lbs. Not making much progress anymore very fast, but just came back from a week at Disney World and only gained 2.4 lbs, which is far better then I would have done prior to JC.
BTW: Have you tried the new Tripple Chocolate Cheese cake yet? WOW!
I don't mind the smaller size portions or the vegiatables, but I miss the sweets so much, that is my down fall.

I've been on JC for just under a year, and am going into maintenance phase (net loss 65). I've been enjoying bicycle commuting and have joined a club for longer rides on the weekends. I've also rediscovered inline skates, those are good for firming up the muscles too.
Of course the winning recipe balances eating with burning, and my key discovery has been fruits for breakfast, raw vegetables for lunch, and steamed vegetables for dinner. The "main course" is just a spotlight on the stage, compared to its former size.

Then was Easter (the next day! ) but was good and only did a little extra off the plan. Went out with a group from work to a local casino and hit the buffet - but managed to stick with mostly veggies (added 2 fried shrimp and one slice of turkey) with sugar free desert.
Had my weigh in yesterday and I lost 2.8lbs!!
I really thought i was in trouble!! I am really feeling good about this plan. Had some blood work done and my A1c (type II diabetic) was at 6.3 and that's a number my doctor liked.
My triglycerides unfortunately have gone up about 200
So had to do some menu changes - got rid of some of the items with high fructose corn syrup and hyrogenated oils and will substitute with more fruit/high fiber snacks. All in all a good week considering. 10 pounds lost to date...I am happy!!

I started out at 315, am a diabetic (btw, my blood sugar has been great since starting JC)and had a blood clot a year ago and have to take blood thinners. The green veggies are bad for me as they contain alot of vitamin K which thickens your blood. I have been trying to work around eating so many greens and as of today I was still within my goal for my blood measurement.
My doctor wants me to get down to 160. I am 5'7" and haven't been 160 since sometime in the early to mid 80's when I was in the Navy or maybe even back to high school in the late 70's. I have a long road to walk here and just hope that the cost of the food doesn't hold us back. So far we have been able to afford it but it is getting a little harder each week. We are christians and believe that the Lord wants us to lose this weight and will help us through this by providing the finances we need.
Again, nice to see there are more men out here and maybe we can encourage each other and keep this going so we all can reach our goal weight!

Saw my doctor today and my BP was down to 130/84. A sigh of relief. Have not had too many food challenges yet. This weekend we are off to a RV weekend with our club friends. If you know anything about the RV community then you know they like to eat. Fortunately my wife is on the program as well as one other camper. We may all have to hold hands to get through this challenge.

I'm into my fourth week and have lost 13.1 lbs.
I love the food. My consultant dropped me to 1500 calories per day. It is a little less food, but I am adjusting.
I can't wait to get under 200 lbs.

We were chronic eat-outers, especially on the weekends. We spend less with Jenny for the week than we spent just on weekends eating out before. I told my wife today that money we save is going into a vacation account so I can show her off on some beach. (And not feel self conscious myself). LOL
