I would love to hear of your favorite inspirational quotes. From a faith perspective, from a political place, from great people in history ~ any and all would be fantastic!! Or your own snippets of wisdom on this journey to wellness!
I offer this one:

Geneen Roth talks about listening to the small, quiet little voice inside you that tells you you've had enough instead of feeling stuffed...
She's a good read. Check her out!

one of my favorite bible verses:
You will keep in perfect peace him whose mind is steadfast, because he trusts in you. Isaiah 26:3
from someone who is an emotional eater, this has helped me a lot get through the rougher times.

I love that! My version reads thus:
Isaiah 26:3
Open the gates! Let the upright nation come in, she, the faithful one whose mind is steadfast, who keeps the peace, because she trusts in you.
Just as you pointed out this will be helpful as I go through my usual passing moods of anxiety and depression - that definitely have me with a draw to eat as a coping mechanism.
This is a keeper
Susan

One of my all time favorite quotes...
quote:
Let that light shine
Our deepest fear is not that we are not inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves — who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, and fabulous. Actually who are you not to be — you are a child of God! Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so other people won’t feel insecure around you. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It’s not just in some of us. It’s in everyone. And as we let that light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.
– from: A Return to Love by Marianne Williamso

And another...
quote:
"And the day came, when the risk to remain tight in a bud was more painful than the risk to bloom." - Anis Nin

Perfect hit again! Somewhere along the way recently I had heard that quote about our light. I think it was my Parish priest in fact. I loved it - but I didn't have it in writing. I love both of these actually. I'd love to match some of these with gorgeous photography (lettin' one of my light shine lol ) to display in fact wait! I've got it - my local Rite Aide pharmacy has a matted huge frame with lots of ? 3x3 windows. They are on clearance for only 12.00!!! I could put a photo in one slot and a quote in the next till all ?30 something photo spots are filled.
Thx so much!

Gosh, I have so many favorites!!! Ok, I'll pick 1 or 2 that apply to probably many of us:

Stop pondering...start doing!
This came to me on my way to work, stuck in traffic, one beautiful morning, so it's an original thought. Find it especially fitting for JC! I'm close to retirement, too, and it is very apt. What am I going to do with my life now? I could think it to death, or I could start doing some of those things I've thought of doing for the past 40 years!

A while back I asked the board to share quotes like these and this one really stuck with me: "What you eat in private, you wear in public". How true!

My favourite quote is from Wynonna Judd...

This is one I heard a long time ago that has always stuck with me. I think it is helpful to keep in mind especially when you have one of those "slip ups" or a not so great WI:
"You don't drown by falling in the water. You drown by staying there."

Hi Everyone,
Just wanted to send you all a post to say a great big 'thank you'!!!
I've tried each week to stop by this thread and read what you all have shared as your favorite quotes.
They are all so meaningful, and so inspiring, and uplifting, that it just makes one feel so 'not alone' on this JC journey.
Anyway, thanks to all of you .. and have a great week!!!
