Waving Goodbye to 25 lbs

Posted by Plaiddog , 07 June 2012 · 304 views

I haven't posted for a couple weeks. During that time, I stopped eating the Jenny food. I needed a break, though I was a little worried I'd put weight back on. Thankfully, I still lost 4 pounds, and in the next 4 to 5 weeks should meet my goal. Yay!!!

Eating real food again, I am happy to report that the Jenny portions-control lessons have served me well. I am eating smaller amounts of food, staying away from high-fat foods and empty carbs. I eat lots of fruits, vegetables, and lean protein. I have my daily treat, some version of the Jenny low-cal treats. No alcohol -- that was my downfall! I also walk/jog 4 miles a day. I find that listening to audio books (free online via your local public library) makes the exercise fly by!

It is wonderful to fit into clothes I haven't dared try on for years. My husband is calling me "skinny" and my son is not only proud, but inspired; he jogs with me on weekends, and has cut out high-sugar fruit drinks and sodas.

I am really glad I went to Jenny. I needed the plan, and the support, to take control of my weight. I am looking forward to my "after" picture, which I will definitely post.

If I could do this, anyone can!!

Positive thoughts --

Renee

How long have you been on Jenny?  I have been a member for 1 year- have lost 23 pounds- but I dont stick to it- I get sick of the routine- how do you keep going?  Thanks

I've been a member since March.

23 pounds is great!

I walk/jog four miles a day. Studies show that people who keep weight off exercise an hour or more daily.

I look at myself in a full-length mirror. Many overweight people don't have one in their homes, and don't realize what they actually look like.

Habit -- don't eat fried foods, go light on salad dressing, avoid breads and sugar.

Have a low-cal treat once a day. Have two if you've been good!

Weigh yourself at least once a week. If you've gained, start cutting back.

I kept my weight down for years. I am working hard to make fitness and good eating a habit so I don't have to count every calorie.

How much more weight do you want to lose?
